About the Printer

Protype CD400 industrial 3D printer — front view with dual IDEX extruders

CD400 is our workhorse industrial printer. 400 × 400 × 400 mm build volume, dual IDEX extruders, open material system. Built for serial production with engineering plastics — ABS, PA-CF, PC-ABS, TPU, and dozens more.

The hotend reaches 550 °C. Active chamber holds 90 °C, bed goes to 150 °C. Large PA or PC-ABS parts stay flat — no warping, no delamination. Copy and Mirror modes let both extruders work in parallel, doubling shift output.

Auto filament change handles 4 spools of 3 kg each, plus built-in drying. In normal operation the printer runs 10+ days unattended. Queue up overnight and weekend jobs and walk away.

Control it via the 22″ touchscreen or remotely through ProtypeHub, VPN access, and the onboard camera. Designed and assembled in Belarus.

Will our printer handle your parts?

Send your 3D model — we'll analyze the geometry, select the right material, and show you what the CD400 can deliver.

CD400 Thermal Chamber

Sealed thermal chamber for stable engineering-grade printing

For ABS, Nylon, PC, ASA — stable chamber temperature means no warping, reliable layer adhesion, and predictable part geometry.

Hover over a chamber zone for details

CD400 thermal chamber temperature map: operating chamber temperature up to 90 °C. The hot print zone is isolated from the cold mechanics zone by compensators.

Sealed construction with compensators

up to 90 °C

maintains stable temperature inside the chamber and minimizes environmental influence.

Heat-resistant assemblies and seals

zero degradation

designed for sustained operation at chamber temperatures up to 90 °C without degradation.

Enclosure thermal insulation

effective

reduces heat loss through walls and doors, maintaining stable temperature conditions.

Uniform temperature distribution

uniform

minimizes hot/cold spots — stable adhesion and minimal warping across the entire print area.

For printing PEEK, PEKK, ULTEM and other high-temperature polymers at 150 °C, see Protype CD400HT →

CD400 FAQ

Key questions before purchasing the Protype CD400 industrial 3D printer

02

Application areas

We integrate Protype into production cycles across industries—from Education to Aerospace

Where Protype printers already work

01

Mechanical engineering

Mechanical engineering

Applications

Jigs, gearboxes, brackets.

Why it's worth it

Tooling in hours, not weeks. Small-batch costs drop 5–10x while accuracy stays the same.

02

Architecture

Architecture

Applications

Building models, facades, landscapes.

Why it's worth it

Clients see a physical model before ground is broken — approvals happen faster.

03

Railway

Railway

Applications

Fasteners, sensor housings, cable channels.

Why it's worth it

The railcar doesn't sit idle while the part ships from a warehouse. Print on-site — minimal downtime.

04

Medical

Medical

Applications

Orthoses, prosthetics, anatomical models.

Why it's worth it

Every piece fits the patient's anatomy exactly. No molds needed, ready in a day.

05

Education & R&D

Education & R&D

Applications

Fixtures, gears, trays.

Why it's worth it

A failed prototype isn't a setback — it's the next iteration. A new one prints in an hour.

06

Aerospace

Aerospace

Applications

Covers, ducts, fasteners.

Why it's worth it

Lighter part, more complex geometry — and still ready overnight instead of a month on the mill.

07

Petrochemicals

Petrochemicals

Applications

Mechanisms, housings, training models.

Why it's worth it

Test the material and shape in days rather than waiting months for production tooling.

08

Shipbuilding

Shipbuilding

Applications

Supports, gaskets, small hardware.

Why it's worth it

The yard doesn't wait on a supplier — parts print right in the dock, repairs stay on schedule.

09

Instrumentation

Instrumentation

Applications

Enclosures, covers, PCB holders.

Why it's worth it

Changed the PCB layout? Reprint the enclosure. No retooling, no missed deadlines.
